Oroku Doshi Kai

Notes by Tatsuo Akamine: Prior to World War II, many of the issei from Oroku-son lived on the islands of Maui and Hawaii. Some lived on Oahu. As the children of the outer-island families grew up, many families moved to Honolulu, away from plantation life. Gathering together in Honolulu, the issei formed the Oroku Doshikai. The club is composed of families from five of the six aza of Oroku-son: Akamine, Gushi, Omine, Toma, and Uebaru. The families of the sixth aza, Aza-Oroku, have their own club, the Oroku Aza Jin Club. About 1972 Oroku-son, Okinawa, was incorporated into Naha City.
