As the Worldwide Uchinanchu Taikai is just over a month away, I’m sure those of you who are attending the event are anxiously anticipating the ceremonies, parade and various taikai activities.

In preparation for the parade, we are asking for volunteers who would like to participate as hula dancers and ukulele players, who will be included in the HUOA/Hawaii contingent for the mile-long march down Kokusai Doori on Sunday, October 30.

We will be holding hula and ukulele practices during the remaining Mondays and Wednesdays at the Hawaii Okinawa Center Chaya and parking lot. The selected song is He Nani Ku Ki’eki’e.
