OGSH database. Click here.

This is a database of over 50,000 Okinawans who emigrated to over 29 countries around the world from 1900 to 1937. It contains emigrant names, birth dates, passport numbers, travel dates, addresses in Okinawa and their destination countries. The original source data is in kanji and has been translated by the volunteers at OSGH. Please note that kanji names can have multiple English readings or pronunciations. As a result, during the translation process the most common readings may have been used and may be erroneous. Search using the kanji option will yield the most accurate results. Good Luck!
